Barry Bove Obituary

Barry C. Bove, "Maxie," 62, of Rutland died unexpectedly Sunday, December 22, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Rutland, June 3, 1951, the son of Victor and Gina (Ravenna) Bove.

Barry was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy, class of 1969, and was a member of the Vermont National Guard.

He was a member of American Legion Post #31 and the V.F.W. Post #648, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge of Rutland.

Barry enjoyed traveling, racquetball and golf. He spent many winter months in Pompano Beach, Florida, with family and friends.

He was owner & operator of Maxie's Tubs and Mini Subs on State Street for over 35 years.

Surviving are one brother, Victor P. Bove and his wife, Holly of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and their children, Hope R. Bove and her husband, John Zaharakis, Kimberly E. Corley, Stephanie O. Corley and her husband, Justin E. Carroll, and one grand-niece, Lillah A. Zaharakis, and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Rutland. Officiating will be the Rev. Thomas Houle, pastor.

A reception will follow.

Burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Dec. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.

His family thanks his many patrons for their loyalty and friendship.

Contributions may be made to Mount Saint Joseph Academy or to Vermont Diabetes Assn., c/o Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington St., Rutland, VT 05701.

He made the best grinders in Rutland City! My deepest condolences are with his family! We lived down the street from maxie's and have been going there for 30 years! SO many fond memories! He surely will be missed!

Vic-We were so sad to hear about Barry. We will always have our great memories of our families growing up together:Lake Bomossen, Aunt Irene's farm and Sundays at your house when Poppie was still alive and living with you. Barry was agreat guy, loved by many. He was always around when you needed him and had Uncle Vic's mannerisim's and laugh. He will be missed by many. I am sorry that we couldn't come up on such short notice but our hearts and prayers are with you and the family. Its a huge loss to all of us.
