August 15, 1946 - December 31, 2025
Citrus Heights, California - Alice, "Ali," was born Alice Cecile Borchers on August 15th, 1946 at San Mateo Memorial Hospital in San Mateo, CA. She graduated from Aragon High School in San Mateo, with the class of 1964. After an entry level clerical position Ali moved to the Sacramento area, and began a long career at Williams, then Hurling, and finally Dougherty Chevrolet as a payroll administrator, lasting over 30 years, where she met her lifelong love and husband, Roger Bohnhof, a salesman at the dealership. They were married for 35 years, enjoyed music, travel and art, but most important was their church home at Zion Lutheran Church, where their walk with Christ grew. Ali took leadership roles at the church such as leading the Grief Share group and serving on the Board of Directors.
Ali enjoyed painting landscapes, food and animals and she was often encouraged to show her artwork in local galleries and was active in the local art community. Ali was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cecile Borchers and her husband of 35 years, Roger. Ali is survived by Her siblings, Eleanor, John and Barbara; son, Peter; and grandchildren, Monica (David), Jesse (Teniya) and Jenny (Jerry); and great grandchildren, Charles, Victor, Divinity, Jordyn and James. Ali was greatly loved by family, friends and colleagues.
A memorial service will be held at Ali's church home, Zion Lutheran Church 3644 Bolivar Ave., North Highlands, CA on January 17th at 11 a.m. Private interment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. Gifts in Ali's memory are welcome at Zion Lutheran Church.
