Arthur DAVEY Obituary

DAVEY, Arthur 'Art'
Nov. 16, 1931 - July 27, 2012
Arthur 'Art' Alfred Davey was born in Hollywood, CA, on November 16, 1931, and passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife of 50 years, Joan K. Davey (nee Hamlin), and the rest of his family after a long illness in Roseville, CA, on July 27, 2012.
Art retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. in 1973 after 30 years of dedicated service and continued his dedication in the Marine Corps League which donates funds and assistance to active and former marines, their widows and orphans. He also enjoyed donating his time and assistance to Toys for Tots, fishing, Judo, and most of all spending time with his family. Art's generous spirit will be greatly missed by those he touched throughout his life, but never more so than by his loving family.
Art was predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. and Grace E. Davey; and his sister, Eleanor Carpenter. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan K. Davey of Roseville, CA; his daughter, Kathy Wilson (George) of Brown Summit, NC; his sons, Randy Davey (Deanna) of Jacksonville, NC, David Davey (LaVonne) of Bakersfield, CA, and Scott Davey (Charlene) of Roseville, CA; his sister Carolyn Fernandez (Fred) of Pollock Pines, CA; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
At the family's request there will be no formal services, but donations may be made to Toys for Tots in Art's name. Arrangements are under the direction of Cochrane's Chapel of the Roses, (916) 783-7171.

Not a day goes by that I do not think of you. I miss you so much. I will forever tell B how amazing his great grandpa was. I'm so glad that I have pictures of you two together to show him how much you loved him. I love you more than words can say, and cannot express how much I miss you.

With deepest sympathy to the family during your time of sorrow. Psalms 46:1 says: God is for us a refuge and strength during this difficult time and may God grant you the comfort to endure.

My sincere condolences to Art's family. While I didn't know him very long, I do know that he left an impact on me and those around him. He was an all around, genuinely good guy. Thank you for your service to this country and for making me laugh. Many hugs to you all. You are in my heart and prayers. Traci
