Memorial services will be held11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22nd, at Centennial United Methodist Church, 5401 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento. Contributions may be made to the Land Park Community Association by mailing a check to Land Park Community Association at P.O. Box 188285, Sacramento, CA 95818-8285.

My family's sincere condolences to the Rutledge family. They are a legend in Sacramento. Vic's Ice Cream restaurant on Riverside Blvd. was a favorite place for anyone living in the Land Park community. We have many happy memories of our times there. I remember reading an article where Mr. Rutledge essentially said being a good family man and provider was more important than being wealthy. How right he was in saying this statement! The Rutledge son and daughter were model children and made a significant mark at Kennedy High School. The Rutledge family hosted the high school's first exchange student, Ricardo Fiegelist Schmidt, from Chile during 1969-1970. Again, our deepest sympathy to the Rutledge family; we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
