I had the opportunity to know Cliff through, my good friend and his sister-in-law, Susane Yee, and throught the years his wife,Betty Mah and their two two sons, Damon and Liwen.I now wish I had taken more time to talk to him one on one. His gift of intellect and his smiling face will not be forgotton by the many who were in contact with him.He also had a unique sense of humor and a wonderful quest for knowledge. My special moment with Cliff was the time my husband, Don Cook and I were walking down the main street in Key West, Florida and we saw Betty and Cliff walking in the opposite direction. We were all surprized and pleased by this "small world opportunity" and Betty and Cliff took pictures of the event. They sent us a copy of the picture and it serves as a reminder of the joy of a day,a moment and the short time we have to be a part of each other lives.

Dear Betty,
Memories. These cannot be taken away. The memory most predominant of Cliff was the ready smile.
Next the powerful intellect and readiness to engage it in discourse. Never will I forget the wonderful evenings I spent with you and Cliff debating and discoursing on so many matters. These were special moments and have been preserved in a special place in my memory bank.
Cliff was for me a good father, a good husband and a good man. I will miss him.
Mostly, I hope you find some source of comfort in these trying days.
I hope to see you again soon, Betty.
Yours affectionately,
Ed Hill

We knew Clifford through his wonderful sister-in-law, Suzan. We shared many fun social events together, usually over a dinner table laden with food. Larry and Cliff enjoyed a special affinity as electrical engineers, and love of commuting to work by bicycle. It was always a pleasure to listen to Cliff relate engineering in an historical context. He and Betty were both always upbeat with a positive outlook on life. He will be very much missed by us.

I will always have a picture of Cliff in my mind siting next to my desk, bringing in a new idea or concern, always something to make a improvement in any activity or topic that cought his attention. That picture is always with a smile. Cliff never had a bad thing to say about anyone or anything. He only gave off positive energy. We often arrived at Hazel and Folsom at the same time in the morning, during the heavy traffic.I would pray that I would see him safely inside.
I know he will be sorely missed by his family, he will also be sadly missed by his Aerojet friends.

I've only met Mr. Mah a handful of times, but he has always opened a room with his smile and charisma. He carried himself with enthusiasm and wit and he knew more about Chinese culture than anyone ever should.
I'm thankful for the chance to meet him and know that his best traits survive in all the people he's touched.

I met Clifford through Suzan, Bettie's wonderful and irreverent sister. He solved a physics problem that kept gnawing at me - why my water barometer kept falling. He illuminated Chinese history. He was a pleasure to be with - always radiant.
My heartfelt sympathies to Bettie, Damon and Liwen, Suzan and other family members.

Cliff Mah will be greatly missed by his Aerojet Family. Cliff was a wonderful
example of how a person should live his life. Cliff will surely have a place in the heavens above. It wouldn't surprise me that higher powers have requested his special services and expertise for launching new suns and planets for the universe. It was my pleasure to know him for the last 24 years. I'm sure I must have seen him last night, that new twinkling star that glowed so brightly.

My sincerest regrets at the passing of Cliff. I considered him a friend. He was such a stable person and fun. We enjoyed the many problems on the Titan, Delta and Kistler programs. I could always count on him to come up with the right solution. I will remember him always, as he rode past my office in the mornings and gave a friendly wave. God Bless you in your mourning.

What a shock to hear that Cliff has passed away; and he had just begun his adventure as a retiree from Aerojet. I always enjoyed chatting with him as we passed in the hallway. He was a delight and a wonderful man. My best to his family. Sweet aloha, Mary Lou...

I will always remember Cliff's smiling face. I don't believe I ever saw him NOT smiling. He shared so many interesting and fun stories with me and was always so cheerful and happy. He will be missed by many of us here at Aerojet. My sincere condolences to his family. I'm glad I had the pleasure of meeting some of them at his retirement party.

I was looking forward to reading Cliff's book. We spent much time his last year at Aerojet discussing the topics and whether the language might be a little rough for the general public.
I first worked with Cliff at Aerojet Energy Conversion Company where I started as a temp in 1986. As we both moved on to other jobs, I still saw Cliff in the halls and started to call him "Cliffie" just to bug him! He always had time to discuss his family and how proud he was of his children. He would just beam when talking about all their accomplishments.
I envied Cliff his energy and determination, but I was always most grateful for his patience and ability to pass along complex ideas in terms I could understand.
I will never forget the time he planned my going to a new job party and took the department to Dim Sum in Freeport. Luckily he sat next to me and would politely tell me that he didn't think I would like that particular dish (and he was usually right!)
I am so very sorry that his time with his family was cut short and I know that you will all miss him. But you also need to know his Aerojet family will miss him as well.
Respectfully with condolences,
Myra Forbyn

He was like the older brother I never had. He taught me more about my heritage and where my ancestors came from than any one I have ever known. He was a good mentor.
