John Sweda called with the news of Danny's passing. I knew in speaking with Dan he had not been in good health for quite some time. It was still a shock to hear this news. Danny was always such a pleasure to know and to visit with. His smile and chuckle, and overall good nature. We shared our ups and downs and all the common interests going back to our late teens when we met in the summer of 1969 when he worked at Specialized Import Service, with Ron Callison. We had a lot of laughs, and not a lot of disagreement. I'll miss him and always remember him as a truly likable guy. I'm dealing with my own health issues, having been diagnosed with lymphoma in January, and am currently undergoing treatment with chemotherapy. I regret being unable to attend his memorial, but please know that I'll be thinking of him and am relieved his struggle and suffering with his health are no more. Rest in peace my good ol' friend...And to Michelle and the kids my sincerest condolences, we'll all miss him, but he won't be forgotten! Tom Boutos.
