Elizabeth Daft Obituary

Bette Daft passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, September 1, at age 98. A devoted wife and mother, her family was the joy of her life. She and her husband, Bob (January 2001), enjoyed a rich and fulfilling life traveling the world. She and her family loved to ski which became a center of family activities for many years. She also loved to golf at Del Paso Country Club where she developed many close friendships. She especially enjoyed preparing family dinners with seasonal table decorations during Holiday celebrations. For many years a 'White' Christmas was celebrated at the family home at Lake Tahoe where she would supervise the decorating of the tree that her "boys" had found by skiing into the woods. Once her sons were no longer home she began a successful career in residential real estate. She was proud of her children Kent (Peggy) and Jeff, her grandchildren Jennifer Daft Ashley (Garrett), Katherine, Christian (Dorothy), Caroline, Michael, Lauren and William and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley and Tennysen Daft. She was proud of her Italian heritage (her family loved her stuffed zucchini and frittatas) and was steadfast in her Catholic faith and a caring friend, often preparing casseroles for friends who were ill. She enjoyed playing Bridge with friends and was an avid reader. She let it be known that she was ready "to be with the love of my life" and stated "no grieving for me. I had a great ride." As she wished a private family Mass was held in her honor. Remembrances may be made to the Progressive Supranuclear Society, 20 E. Padania Rd, Ste. 201, Timonium, MD 21093-9923. Arrangements by W. F. Gormley & Sons.

We loved your Mom as a part of our family for so many years. I still remember trips to Mexico, Lake Tahoe, meeting them at Casa Del Campo in the Dominican Republic for lunch. Her chocolate fudge was a favorite with Edith. And she studied Econ at Berkeley. She was a fine woman who led a fine life. God bless all of you. Ken and Anne (Siebenthal) Beasley.

Losing a loved one is never easy, but our loving God promises to give the strength and courage you'll need to endure, and to cope with the pain of your loss. He also promises to hold your hand every step of the way. Isaiah 40:29, 41:10,13
