Frank Raimondi Obituary

RAIMONDI, Frank W.
"A Gentle Soul"
Frank W. Raimondi of Sacramento, beloved husband of Josephine Osa Raimondi, born on February 16, 1921 in San Francisco, passed away at home on August 6, 2004. Preceded in death by his parents Luigi and Concetta Raimondi and his five sisters (Liz, Josephine, Millie, Flora & Angie).
Loved father of Richard (Georgiann) Raimondi of Boise, ID, Renee (Jeff) Deming of Redwood City, CA, Debra (Bruce) Bynum of Corvallis, OR, Teri (Bill) Christiansen of Cameron Park, CA, Frank Jr. (Cathy) Raimondi of Portland, OR, and Tina (Mike) Taylor of Eagle, ID. "Baba" to Matthew, Megan, Emily and the late Joseph Raimondi; Nicholas and Andrew Deming, Dylan and Claire Bynum, Erik and Marie Christiansen, Steven Raimondi, and Zachary and Alex Taylor.
Frank was a kind, gentle, giving soul who was a friend to everyone. He loved his daily morning walks in Land Park, where he came to be known as the "Mayor of 11th Avenue" by all of his neighbors and friends. He always carried pretzels in his pocket, which both dogs and children loved. For many summers, he vacationed with his family in Santa Cruz, where he organized and hosted Sacramento/Santa Cruz tournaments in dominoes and tennis. He was the kind of person who drew people to him and found ways to make them feel valued and special. He had no enemies, only many friends, in many places.
Throughout his 50-plus year career in the liquor and wine industry, Frank was known as a superb salesman, who knew everyone and could compute numbers in his head faster than any calculator. He was more than just a salesman, he was a trusted friend who knew so much about the industry and was willing to go the extra mile to help his customers.
Clearly, the pride and joy of Frank's life were his six children and thirteen grandchildren. He often told friends that his proudest accomplishments were that all six of his children graduated from college, had married well (and only once), and that they (and their spouses and children), all enjoyed spending time together. Frank and Josephine set a wonderful example for their children and grandchildren throughout their loving, 54 year marriage.
Rosary vigil services will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, August 9, 2004 at Church of the Holy Spirit, 3159 Land Park Drive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Church of the Holy Spirit, with Father Dan Madigan presiding. Private burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be in Frank's name to Christian Brothers High School, 4315 Martin Luther King Blvd, Sacramento, CA, 95820 or to the Sacramento Food Bank Services, 3333 Third Ave, Sacramento, CA 95817.

To the Raimondi family:

I had the pleasure of working with Frank Jr. at Intel on Intel Innovation in Education. I met Frank Sr. at SFBS at the Intel Computer Clubhouse opening. What a dynamic man. May God comfort you in your loss over the days ahead. What a marvelous life of memories you have for the future.
