I still miss you, I have a Teddy Bear that Shannon made from your shirts. I guess the loss of you will always be hard for me. Your Children and Grandchildren and a real credit to you ( and Freddy). I chuckle to think of the two of you hanging out now. Good night. The world is in a state of utter chaos. I hope we can hang out in a dream and I can tell you all about it.

I learned of Gary's passing after thinking of the old neighborhood in the late 1960's. I went to elementary school with Gary and recollect his kindness and humor. I'm pleased he is at peace and with the angels.

So much about the new is hysterically funny. Today it was like getting hit in the face with a bag of nickels when I realized I could not call you tonight to laugh about it. Expletives deleted.

I saw my brother Gary in an early morning dream. He was in good spirits. I told him he was dead and he took well. Then I watched the news and Jimmy Kimmel and James Gorden were singing Boom Boom into my heart. That was Gary's nick name. I went off to a happy day knowing he is not far away. heart emoticon

I worked with Gary as one of his investigators for a period of over four years at DIR. I feel it was a privilege and an honor to have worked with Gary. He was the guru and "Yoda" of public works law in California. Gary had a wicked sense of humor and was loyal to a fault. Gary was a dedicated public servant and always cared for the "little guy". I have many found memories of Gary and he will forever be in my heart. Gary RIP.

Gary was my closest colleague at DIR. We talked on the phone daily for years as we sorted through all the public works matters that landed on our collective plate. Everybody wanted a piece of him because he was fun to be around and knew the law backwards and forwards. He also had a real world savvy and sense of humor that made his perspective on things pretty unique. An avid reader, an astute observer of politics, Gary was the most interesting person in the room. And what a big heart Gary had - cared deeply and was loyal to a fault. Old school gentleman, they don't make 'em like that anymore. I miss him and will never forget him.

I will always remember his passionate work for the law; he applied a real sense of justice to it. I immensely enjoyed his Underground Economy presentations that were intelligently organized and straightforward. Public Works will not be the same without you.
