Gerald JACOBS Obituary

JACOBS, Gerald Wayne
""Jake'
A native of Sacramento, Jake passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident at age 53. He is survived by his loving wife Penny Gallegos Jacobs & step- son Bennett Marler, preceded in death by brother Jeffery Jacobs, his father Clark Jacobs and his mother Joan Hollister. Jake was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, and later became an electrician and licensed contractor for the last 30 years. He leaves behind many close friends whom he cherished and some he referred to as his brother. Those of you who knew Jake would say it was obvious that he enjoyed life to the fullest with his infectious charisma, smile and happy spirit that would spread a light to all he met. Jake enjoyed all watersports, classic cars, camping and was just beginning to get in to golf. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. A private burial will take place at East Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Folsom Blvd., on Sunday, June 1, 2014 and an open Celebration of Life at Scott's Seafood on Riverside Blvd., Sacramento from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: CA Dept. of Parks & Recreation, Attn: Cashier/ Lifejackets, P.O. Box 942896, Sacramento, CA 94296-0001.

Jake was the lead electrician on my lodge in Mt. Lassen. He will now not personally be there to see it completed. So Jake will be honored from the 1st flip of the light switch to forevermore . May the light of your soul shine on your family .

We worked together at the 76 gas station on 43rd around 1977 and became good friends. Knew him as Jerry, not Jake. Wish we spent more "adult time" together.
