Geraldine HANSEN Obituary

HANSEN, Geraldine Joyce
Jensen
Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend left this life peacefully on May 21, 2011. Joyce was born November 22, 1930, in Brigham City, Utah, to Hyrum Albert Jensen and Vera Inez Winegar. Joyce married Eric Victor Hansen on November 29, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on November 26, 1960. They were the parents of six children, grandparents of 24, and great-grandparents of 9. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric; her sister Carlla; her eldest daughter, Julie; and one grandchild, Trevor. She is survived by her younger brother, Ronald Jensen, and the remainder of her children and grandchildren. She was proud of her hometown and continued to maintain friendships with many of her high school friends. While she worked periodically during the early years of her marriage, her time and resources were dedicated to creating a home for her family. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and working on a large variety of art and craft projects. She will always be remembered for her vast variety of favorite recipes. She was an avid reader and loved playing board games with friends and family. She enjoyed her church callings and the opportunity to serve others. Before her declining health she loved to travel, having visited Europe, Asia, and South America. Funeral services are Thursday, May 26, 2011 in Brigham City, UT. Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-mortuary.com.
