Born December 1, 1911, Selden, Kansas, moved to Sacramento in 1920. Passed away in Sacramento July 25, 2003. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Sidney C. Frick Pope; and his parents, William H. Pope, M.D. and Grace A. Pope. Survived by his children, Glenn A. Pope, Jr., wife Julie, Barbara G. Pope-Singer husband Gerald, Douglas N. Pope, wife Monica all of Sacramento. Also survived by 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Education: Sacramento High School; Sacramento Jr. College; Stanford University, BA (psychology) 1934; Temple University School of Medicine, M.D. 1938; Post Graduate: Internship-Alameda County Hospitals, Oakland, CA July, 1938-June, 1939; Residency-Internal Medicine, Alameda County Hospitals, Oakland, CA, July 1939-November 1942. U.S. Army Air Force Veteran, Medical Corps, November, 1942 to January, 1946, Rank- Major. Employment: Private Practice-Sacramento, California 1946 to July, 1982- Internal Medicine Hospital. Appointments: Senior Staff, Sutter Community Hospitals, 1946-1982; Senior Staff, Mercy General Hospital, 1942-1982; Courtesy Staff, UC, Davis Medical Center, 1973-1994; Visiting Staff, Sacramento County Hospital, 1946-1969. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 2:00pm at EAST LAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL 43rd and Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
