Heather occupies a whole chapter in my book of life. She was more than a co-worker she was a dear caring friend whom I hope to see again when my time comes to cross over.

Kym, I'm sure your mom must be smiling from above on you and Kayla during this holiday season. And on good authority, she must now have the answer to the great Thanksgiving giblets debate. All the best.

Kymberley -- I just read your one-year anniversary message to Heather, and was very touched by it. There is no doubt in my mind that the pelicans were a "hello" from Heather. When my own mother passed, she would send me similar messages. Heather loved you and Kayla so much, and still does.

Well Mama its been a year. I'm still holding you close. Kayla and I are celebrating life for you every chance we get. You would be so proud of her mom. I saw 5 pelicans flying in for a landing early Sunday in Santa Cruz. Thought it was your way of letting me know you were at peace now and on the next part of the journey. I love you so my special angel and miss you so.

Heather was a great booster of those of us in the media. She was a great lady. When I wrote a column for The Union, she frequently fed me items, anecdotes and vignettes, but never wanted to see her name in the paper. I returned the favor by bringing my friends into the Pre-Flite, which we lovingly called the Bomb Shelter. Heather was a gas, and I can still hear her laugh. Her name is in the paper now, sadly, and it's not the kind of news I ever wanted to read. God bless all of you in her family and in her wide circle of friends.

Heather will always be with you in your heart and memories and her honesty, humor, and vibrant personality shows through each of you. You both are in my thoughts and prayers.

Kym,
I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed meeting and talking with her at your house. Your Mom always made me feel special, like she understood the struggle of youth. Our world was better for her being in it. Knocking on Heaven's door. Love Patrick Connolly

There are no words that can express the loss of a mother, just know that you are never alone and you are loved by so many.
Although I did not know your mother, I know she is now the perfect angel in heaven and is watching over you.
GOD Bless.
