James FROYD Obituary

FROYD, James Lyle
of Sacramento, CA, passed away Dec. 12, 2010. He was born in Las Vegas, NV on June 19, 1945 to James Patterson and Treva Fortner. After graduating from Las Vegas High School, he served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart. He eventually completed college and received a Masters Degree. James worked in Telecommunications, was a reserve police officer in Solano County, and served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the Veteran's Administration. He worked diligently to see that the Vietnam Memorial was erected in Sacramento Capitol Park and took many veteran groups to visit the Wall in Washington, D.C. James was active in the Masonic Lodge for many years. He loved the Lord and his family, hunting, fishing, and baseball. He is survived by his wife Michele, son Lyle and grandchildren Lillian and Lyle Jr, sister Marlene, and stepson Andy Salverson. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Gladus Page; stepfather, James Froyd, and mother Treva Fortner. Services will be held after the first of the year and any gifts of remembrance should be sent to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
