Folsom, California - John passed away peacefully with family at his side. He was born in Littlefield, Texas and raised in Imperial, California. After serving in the US Air Force, John found a career in law enforcement with the majority of years on the California Highway Patrol. He started out in a vehicle and moved over to a motorcycle and from the highway to the office. He retired in 1985 as a lieutenant with many great memories.
John's later years were spent with family and serving at his parish, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. His passion was to serve those in need, and he was able to do that for the past 22 years through various ministries, including St. Vincent de Paul and the Knights of Columbus.
John is survived by his wife, Mercy, two daughters, Kim Knight and Brandi Knight, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and his brother, Bob Knight. John was predeceased by two children, Jami Knight and Dennis Knight. He is also survived by many extended family members including in-laws, nephews and nieces.
A memorial Mass for John will be held at 11 a.m. on July 23, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul - Folsom, or to a charity of your choice.
