Lois brought her persona of a Christian woman into the classroom. She was a beloved colleague.

Mrs. Parrish was my algebra teacher in 1984. I was never very good at math, and had anxiety when taking tests. Mrs. Parrish was so kind to me, and went out of her way to help me before school after school and at lunchtime. She even printed the tests out on blue paper for me because she thought it was calming.
I have a few favorite teachers who stand out for me in high school and she's definitely one of them.
In reading her obituary, I'm happy to have learned that she lived a long, fulfilling and happy life.
My condolences to your family. I know she will be missed.

Lois and I first taught together at Sylvan School back in the late 50's. Then fast forward to 1970, and there we were at Del Campo. I loved her optimism, bright smile and wonderful friendship. Heaven is enriched with her presence.

We will always remember how gracious, understanding, and helpful Sterling and Lois were when we discovered that our four-year- old son would be facing radiation for his brain tumor. They came to our home to explain the process and how their son, Greg, was doing after his diagnosis. The comfort they brought to us was overwhelming. Soon after, we were so saddened to attend Greg's memorial service. It emphasized the fact that we never know what tomorrow will bring, and it is best to make the best of each day.
Our sympathy goes out to your family. Although our acquaintance with your parents was short, they are dear to our hearts because of their concern about our situation.
