Roseville, California - Marlene C. Hammitt, 72, passed away on April 27, 2025, in Roseville, California.
Born on June 27, 1952, Marlene graduated from Grant Union High School and soon after began her career with the State of California. Her first job in Human Resources at DMV marked the beginning of her public service. Over the years, she served in HR roles across various state agencies until her retirement from the Contractor's State Licensing Board in 2007.
Marlene was known for her fun nature and caring heart. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends. In later years, when health challenges limited her mobility, she found comfort in spending time with nieces and nephews and entertainment in watching the Food Network and reality TV shows, as well as a bit of Amazon shopping.
She is lovingly remembered by her sister Charlene Hammitt; her brother William Hammitt; many nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Betty Hammitt; and her brothers Charlie Hammitt Jr. and John C. Hammitt.
A private service will be held to honor Marlene's life. If you knew Mar, she would tell you to go out to lunch and remember the fun times you spent with her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
