Howard (Jeff) Hammitt of Perrysville Ohio, passed away on November 20, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief but courageous battle of declining health.
He was born on January 27, 1954 in Akron,Ohio to Howard and Pansy Hammitt.
He enjoyed watching and listening to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Guardians, bowling, traveling and spending time with family and his dogs. He was employed at Quality Castings in Orrville for 30 years and was a cross country truck driver for 19 years after that. He loved being on the road and team driving with his wife by his side.
In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his brother Joseph (Joe Hammitt) and step mother Barbara Hammitt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Hammitt; three sons, Jeff (Teresa) Hammitt of Shreve,Ohio; Jason (Sandi) Hammitt of Perrysville, Ohio; Jeremy (Tonya) Hammitt of Wooster, Ohio; two adopted daughters Julie and Joy Hammitt; and 16 grandchildren.
Friends may call Wednesday November 26, 2025 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Shreve Community Church, 430 N Main St, Shreve, Ohio 44676.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home 330-535-9186.
