Carmichael, California - Born to Frances A. (Deaver) & August V. Profumo of Sutter Creek, "Pro" grew up on Hayden Alley. He attended grammar school and graduated from Amador High School in 1957. Mike earned a B.A. from CSUS in 1961 and Master of Accounting Science from University of Illinois in 1962. He received an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army in 1968. A Certified Public Accountant, he was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the CA Society of Public Accountants. Following his retirement as a Partner from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, he established a private consulting practice in Sacramento for a number of years. Mike was very active in his community and was Chair of the Audit Committee of CARES & ACHT. He was Past Chair of the Board of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce & Co-Chair of the E-21 Team to reinvent the high schools in the Sacramento Unified School District. Mike was very active in his Parish as well as the Diocese of Sacramento where he served on the Finance Committee and numerous other projects where his expertise was utilized. He enjoyed travel, cooking & BBQ's, fishing, hiking and spending time at his Silver Lake cabin with friends & family. He was a 50+ year member of Amador Parlor 17 NSGW. Mike was very proud of his Italian Heritage and was the longest standing member of the Italian Benevolent Society for 63+ years. He served as Grand Marshal during an Annual Italian Picnic Parade in Sutter Creek. Mike is survived by his wife Judy of 54 years, son Michael Jason (Kendra) and Granddaughters Kadie & Kemma; cousins Elaine Trevaskis, Roger Deaver, Rosie Poggi Sutherland and Cindy Coon. A Vigil will be held Monday, May 22 at St. John the Evangelist, 5751 Locust Ave. Carmichael from 5-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 23 at Calvary Chapel, 7100 Verner Ave Sacramento at 10 am. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
