July 4, 1952 - December 17, 2022
Sacramento, California - Michelle Clarice Hettrich, a gifted artist and seamstress, passed away on December 17, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma. She was born on July 4, 1952, in Weiser, Idaho, to Joseph and Ruth Hettrich. Her family later moved to Sacramento, California where she attended public schools and graduated from Highlands High School in 1970.
Michelle was a compassionate and dedicated home health care worker for nearly twenty years. She used her extensive art skills to empower emotionally and physically challenged children to express themselves through art. With her help and loving guidance, she watched them develop into young adults.
Michelle was an avid nature lover and enjoyed going on walks with her dogs. She was also a devoted partner to Stanley Swiger for over 45 years. Michelle passed away with Stanley and her sister Cindy Rains by her side.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father Joseph Hettrich, her mother Ruth, and her brother David. She is survived by her brother Todd, nieces Ami, Grace, Susie, Alison, and Emily, and nephews Jason and Jared. Michelle will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
