Steven Powers Obituary

Steven George Powers, 79, of Citrus Heights, CA, peacefully passed away on January 29, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1946, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam era, where he met the love of his life, Donna.

Steve was a proud graduate of Highlands High School and Sacramento State, earning an MBA. He built a distinguished career as an accountant, providing dependability and mentorship laced with quick, dry wit while at SMUD following his earlier service with Sutter Health. He was known for his integrity, strong work ethic, intelligence, and trusted leadership.

At home, Steve was the family's anchor, with a life marked by quiet strength and warm-hearted encouragement. His family cherished his engaging stories, jokes, brain teasers, and the many shared travel adventures. The sound of Steve unabashedly singing along to a favorite oldie will echo fondly in our memories.

Steve is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna Powers; his sister, Diana Hartman (Chick); daughters Denise Powers Cuffel (Timothy), and Christina Cet'aq Powers; and his grandchildren Kiana, Marissa, and Sabrina. He is reunited in peace with his mother, Gayle McMahon Rowland, father, George Powers, and sister, Marilyn Blaine.

Services will be held starting at 9:00 am on March 4th at The Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home in Roseville, CA. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
