It will be one year tomorrow (8-30-07) that Ric left us. I think of him often. He was one of my oldest friends and former LE partner. Things are hard to understand sometimes, but it is not hard to understand that Ric was a great guy! He was loved by many and was a true friend. Anna and I miss him.

I just found out of Ric's passing and I'm devestated! Last we spoke he was in a lab doing blood work after he thought he would experience a miracle with the outlook he wanted to live and fight the battle of this horrible sickness. I was thrilled to hear his voice sounding strong again. I hadn't heard him that strong since Iraq. He was my best friend. When he went off to Iraq, I and many from work took care of his Battalion with many goodies, cards, cookies, pen pals to keep the men and woman knowing they were all in our prayers and we were so proud of all of them. It was because of Ric that we were able to do so! He cared deeply for his Battalion and the pictures prove it...not to mention how he felt so strong for what he believed in...He was an amazing person...

Ric was a Gentleman, loved his family, Amanda (He loved you so and very proud of you, he was!). He'd always catch me up on the newest and his smile was contagious...the prom to College...I had a dream a few nights ago that he passed on my birthday (8/1) to find out he passed on the 30th...I sat here in shock and it's remained since. The memories the laughter, Disneyland, Norman Brown's Jazz, to the Military Ball, Summitt House and all the times I shall hold on too until we meet again in heaven for another catch up visit....LYBB!!

My sincere condolences go out to you Linda, Amanda and family! Ric has made a permanent mark on everyone's heart who he touched in this life...God blessed us all by lending us this incredible man, friend, soldier, gentleman, Father, Husband and someone who always knew the right thing to do, say and be a man of great integrity and character....I shall look forward to seeing his smiling face again....until then love, rest in the peace of our Lord....

I just found out about Ric's passing today April 4, 2007.
I called his old office and was told by a co worker, Mark.
I cannot even understand how this has happened to such a wonderful man.
Ric was my best friend from when we went to Horace Mann Elementary School in Glendale, Calif. 44 years ago.
we always said that we would get married when we grew up..
we both married different people and got divorced, still telling each other that SOMEDAY we would connect.
Yesterday, April 3, 2007, I found some old letters that Ric had written me in 1971 and some old photos from my visit with my mom and kids to his old house he built in Atascadero...
We had written to each other when he was in Iraq and last year for the first time in 44 years, he didn't call me for my birthday on Aug 22..
Now I know why...
I will miss him with all my heart...
I will always love him with all my heart and I pray that he is happy now and in peace and he will look down and keep me and my family safe.
My sincerest condolences to the family, Amanda, Linda, and all of those who loved him also..

I only met Ric once at a party when he was on leave from Iraq. I had done some computer work for the family so they could communicate while he was serving in Iraq.

A man's life is reflected in his family and in that reflection I could see a man of uncommon character and courage.

Ric was not just a hero on the field of battle but also in civilian life. I am honored to have met him. His memory will serve to remind me to do the right thing when faced with difficult challenges.

My sympathies and prayers are with Linda and his entire family.

Ric was a good friend to everyone with his HUGE heart of gold - a person who would do anything for anyone, and we are all blessed to have had him in our hearts and our lives. Ric was someone (as you know) that could always be counted on when you needed help - he was always positive and always made us laugh, and for that I will always be grateful. He will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to the Ciaramella family.

I am in shock. My mom just read me the obit in the Atascadero News. Some names didn't match up at first and I thought it's not MY Ric Ciaramella. Then I saw Ralph's name, then it all fell into place.

I have not seen Ric in many years, but I have MANY fond memories of our time together. I can't even begin to really express how I feel right now.

My condolences to the entire family.

Good bye old friend. Until we meet again.

1SG Ciaramella was a true soldiers' First Sergeant. His example, his wisdom, the sincerity in his eyes, and his loyalty to his soldiers was apparent in everything he did.

As my friend, Ric is the one who always brought along his contagious smile. He always had a way of moving things in a positive and often humorous manor, regardless of the circumstances.

1SG Ric Ciaramella is deeply missed by so many of us, but leaves us with a permanent example of leadership and humanity that will be always be a part of our thoughts and memories.
