Ruffner, Robert Arnold 'Bob'
Born June 6, 1925 in Oakland California, Bob passed away peacefully September 17, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He is survived by his daughter Robin Snider and husband Mark, his son Bobby Ruffner and his wife Sharon. Bob will be deeply missed by his two grandsons Donald and Thomas Snider. He is also survived by his beloved brother Albert Ruffner and wife Rosemary from Sequim, Washington. After graduation from Oakland High Bob signed up with the US Navy at the age of 17 and spent two years in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Shortly after the war he started work at the family produce business with his uncle Joe Rohrer at Rohrer Brothers Produce. He retired from Rohrer Brothers in 1991 but still continued to work at the 'Market' two days a week until the age of 86. During his retirement Bob enjoyed playing golf and trips to the casinos. A perfect day for Bob would be an early morning game of golf and lunch at Thunder Valley with his son, followed by dinner at his daughter's house with her family where he would visit with his grandchildren and brag about how he beat his son at golf and only lost a few dollars at the casino. He also enjoyed watching football and golf with his family. He will be missed by his family and many friends that he made during his long life. A family service was held at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, California where he was interred alongside his parents Bertha and Albert Ruffner who preceded him in death.
