In reviewing some of the previous comments, one in particular made me smile; the comment is from WC (comment left in 2009) and talks about how Grandma Shirley would always make a treat for them after they swam. The treat consisted of a big bowl of frosting to be served on graham crackers. WC recently shared that same memory! Grandma Shirley made quite an impression on all of us...she was loved by all of us! RIP to the best grandma!

Grandma Shirley I thank you so much for always having your door open to me, and for your kindness. I was always at home when I was in your house! Being there made some hard parts of my life a little easier. I will remember and cherish those parts of my childhood when I was in your home forever....I love and miss you.

Miss you Grandma. I was just thinking about how you used to make a huge bowl of chocolate frosting to go with the extra large box of graham crackers whenever we'd go swimming when we were kids. You're the best! Love you!!

Life is like a train ride...
When we first board the train of life, we have our folks whom we think will be with us for the entire journey. Our parents are with us for as long as we absolutely need them. They too have journeys they must complete. We live on with the memories of their love, affection, friendship, guidance and their ever presence. Some who board your train will leave an everlasting impression when they get off…. And Shriley (mom) you are one of those special people on my train ride that I'll never forget and will always remember and love. Mom, my hope for you, on your new journey is that happiness and kindness touches you like you touched us.
all my love - Blake God Bless!

God looked around his garden
And He found an empty place.
And then He looked down upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain,
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you.
But you didn't go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

When you left this earth for your next journey, we lost a beautiful person. You were an awesome grandmother to your babies, and a loving mother-in-law to me. May you rest in peace and know that your memory will live on in those that had the honor of knowing you.
