Sue Porter Obituary

PORTER, Sue
Beloved wife, devoted mother of seven, grandmother of 14, great-grandmother of two and precious friend, left this earth but not our hearts on June 4, 2008. Born on July 27, 1939, Sue was an amazing woman of great faith who deeply loved her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Sue was a vessel for the Lord and a model of love, strength and grace as she bravely battled cancer these last few months with her family at her side. She enjoyed cruises with friends and annual trips to Pacific Grove with the love of her life Ted. She joins her first born son Steven, survived by his wife Teresa. Sue is survived by Ted, her husband of 52 years, children and spouses, Brian and Carolyn, Julie and Rob Vernatchi, Craig and Linda, Cindy and Brett Westphal, Jeff, and Dawn and Ramon Aragon. Her quick wit and charm will be missed by all! In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Sacramento Sheriff Toy Project, 10117 Mills Station Rd., Rancho Cordova, 95670. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on June 11 and funeral at 10:00 a.m. on June 12 at St. Mary's Church, 1333 58th St., Sacramento.

The pain in my heart is constant. Everyday is a battle to cope with the reality that you are gone. I tell myself lies. I tell myself that this is just a bad dream. I tell myself that you are on vacation. These lies bring me no comfort. I don't know how to live without you mom. You are my best friend. I need you in my life and I don't understand why He took you. I love you so much, that the pain is almost unbearable. I feel you in my heart and I often hear your voice. I long for the day that I get to see your smiling face, when I get to hold you again, or have you hold me and make everything okay. Thank you for being my mom and always taking care of me. You will always be my best friend. I love you so much. Your Dee-Dee Darling.

I've loved Aunt Sue as long as I can remember, even before I ever knew her when Grandma Miller would tell me about her and her big family, and she was a great person to be around and know. The Porter Family is in my thoughts and prayers and know that you can find comfort is knowing that we'll all be together again with Aunt Sue someday! Love you all! Christie (Linda's daughter)

Our hearts and prayers go out to you all during this time of loss. I have such fond childhood memories of Sue and the times spent at she and Ted's home with Stacey. It has been quite some time since I have seen many of you, but know what an incredible source of strength Sue was for your family. May God give you the peace that surpasses all understanding during this time. Much love to you all!

My love and prayers go out to Ted and the entire family. Sue was always an enthusiastic presence during my "growing up" years as Cindy and I spent countless hours in the gym (Byers Gymnastic Center). I will always remember her incredible love for her family.
Gods Blessings to all during this time of loss and change.

My love goes out to all the members of the family. Sue was a great lady and had the greatest sense of humor I have ever seen, She was a joy to be around and perhaps the most giving person I have ever met May she rest in peace with Steve, whom she loved and missed dearly. Keep up the faith Ted, as the whole Porter clan needs you now at this sorrowfull time.

I send my love to all.
