Thomas J. Campbell
June 11, 1928 - March 17, 2021
Sacramento, California - Born in Burke County, Georgia on June 11, 1928. Passed away peacefully in Sacramento, California on March 17, 2021.
A career military man, Tom Campbell enlisted in the Air Force in 1954 and served his country on active duty for 30 years, including during the Vietnam War, reaching the highest enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He then served as a civilian in the Marine Corps for nearly ten years. His professional military education included the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy and his decorations included the Bronze Star. Tom also furthered his formal education while on active duty, obtaining an Associate of Science degree from El Paso Community College in Colorado, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University.
Tom is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Kazuko; his youngest son, Andre; his daughters-in-law Brenda and Mimi; his seven grandchildren Cindy, Brandon, Krista, Shannon, Kristin, Jeffrey and Alyssa; his grandson-in-law Brandon; his three great-grandchildren Lexi, Nathan and Tommy; and scores of cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
