Alpha Smith Obituary
GRANITE QUARRY - Mrs. Alpha Omega Moore Bowen Smith, 71, of Granite Quarry, passed away on Jan. 26, 2015, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury.
Mrs. Smith was born on Jan. 31, 1943, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late William Ervin Moore and Mary Martha Elizabeth Davis Moore.
Mrs. Smith was educated in the Cleveland County schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and flowers and she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Quinn Bowen, who passed away on March 5, 2008.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Randy Quinn Bowen of Kings Mountain, Andy Bowen and wife Linda of Mooresville; daughters Betty Jo Bowen Short and husband Wayne of Kings Mountain and Marcella Bowen of Charlotte.
She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Moore of Kings Mountain; grandchildren Elizabeth Saxon, Brandon Bowen, Larry Bowen and Allen Bowen; and greatgrandchildren Matthew Saxon, Austin Saxon, Abby Saxon and Avery Bowen.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 29 from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church.
Service: The funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Joe Black, pastor. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Memorials: May be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 370 Trexler Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
