Ashley Humphries Obituary

Miss Ashley Lynn Humphries, 48, passed away on April 12, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Ashley was born on September 26, 1972 to James Kent Humphries and Elizabeth Ann Newsom Humphries in Forsyth County. Ashley attended UNC Charlotte and graduated with a BA in Business in 1994. Her last three places of employment where she worked as a Sales Manager were Acosta, Skinny Pop and Waterloo. Ashley enjoyed being outdoors, whether hiking, running or enjoying a good Panthers game with friends. Above all, Ashley loved Jesus with all of her heart and is joyfully with him. In a text to a friend this past Thanksgiving, these were her words: “Thanksgiving will look different this year, but this has sure taught me what is important in life. None of the “stuff” matters. God. Family. Friends. And the only thing we take with us is our relationship with God. It makes me realize even more that this is not my home. I'm just continuing to try to look up and trust my good Father.” Surviving are her loving parents, Jim and Liz Humphries and sister, Susan Humphries. Service: A Celebration of Ashley's Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church (Peace Haven location) with pastor John Hackworth officiating. Covid protocols will be observed. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the following: Robinhood Road Baptist Church (Missions) located at 5422 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106, Calvary Baptist Church (Missions) located at 134 South Peace Haven Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, Trellis (Hospice) located at 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103 and West Haven Baptist Church (Missions) located at 2580 Old Glory Road, Clemmons, NC 27012. I met Ashley about 15 years ago while attending Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Her sweet smile and winsome Spirit were obvious signs of her love of Christ. Over time I got to know Ashley as a wonderful woman of God. It was with much astonishment that I recently learned that Ashley was very sick. My heartfelt Prayers go out to you family members who lost this sweet soul at such a young age. But I encourage you all to mourn well and take solace that Ashley no longer has to suffer and she took that beautiful smile to Heaven where she is in the ever-lasting arms of her Savior.

Ashley and I first met in 2019 at our National Sales meeting. She was a bright shining light... full of joy, energy and smiles! I soon learned of her illness and we connected through our faith in our Lord and Savior. Her faith was strong, she trusted the Lord and she knew He had a plan for her. I will miss her here, but confident she is with her Savior in Heaven, healed and restored. Until we meet again sweet Ashley your legacy of courage and faith lives on to encourage me and many others.

First met Ashley in the late 90's when she began to manage the Campbell Soup business for Acosta. She was a tireless worker (to the point of ridiculous) and an incredible asset to our team. Ashley's biggest impact was not only on the businesses she managed but more importantly the people she touched. She truly was an amazing person and friend to all.

Ashley, my friend, Be at eternal peace as we all know you are.

Ashley was a very special person to those who knew her well. Her faith and her relationship with the Lord sealed our friendship many years ago. Her commitment to the Lord and her daily walk exemplified how a believer should live. Ashley knew God had a plan for her life and was always willing to be obedient. She will be missed tremendously but our loss is heavens gain. She completely healed now and at home with the Lord. Cherish the memories and look forward to that reunion in heaven. My prayer is that God will strengthen you in the days and weeks ahead and give you peace.

Mr and Mrs Humphries, and Susan I am so sorry for your loss of precious Ashley. She was beautiful inside and out. I will forever cherish the memories we made at Woodland and the great sleepovers. May you find comfort knowing she is with her Lord and Savior

Ashley was a beautiful person by every definition - most of all because she had an amazing soul. She cared for people and knew how to connect with them. She loved God, and wanted the same for others. Her friendship was and will always be a gift!
