Corrine Thomas Hardy

KANNAPOLIS - Corrine Thomas Hardy, 84, of Kannapolis, devoted mother and friend, went to be with her Lord Dec. 30, 2009, from Liberty Commons in Salisbury. She had been in declining health the last three years and seriously ill one month.

She was born March 23, 1925 in Talmao, Ga., the daughter of the late John Emory Thomas and the late Lillie Mae Fuller Thomas. She was also preceded by her husband, Joseph Taylor Hardy, in 1975; and two children, Steven Taylor Hardy and Reba Jo Hardy.

She was an avid gardener, especially having a green thumb with everything she planted.

She is survived by three children, John Hardy of Conroe, Tex., Kenneth Hardy and Hugh Hardy, both of Kannapolis; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Carter of China Grove and Betty Nell Loukos of Charlotte.

Service and Visitation: A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2 at Carolina Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Chris O'Guinn. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Memorials: May be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28218.
