Donnie N. Herring

Donnie N. Herring, 72, of China Grove, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. He was born Feb. 20, 1946 in Rowan County to the late Adam N. Herring and MaeBell Hill Herring. Donnie was a member of Landis Baptist Church for 69 years and in those years he has held numerous positions within the church and has served as a deacon since 1991. He was also a member of the China Grove Volunteer Fire Department since 1980. He worked for Food Lion as a mechanic for many years until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Brenda Herring; two daughters, Cindy McHouell (James) of Mooresville and Anita Holmes (Clay) of Matthews; three grandchildren, Brian McHouell, Chance Holmes and Kara McHouell; a favorite sister, Linda Miller (Chip) of China Grove; nephews, Jeff and Brandon Linn; great-nieces and a great-nephew. Service & Visitation: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Landis Baptist Church with the Rev. Richie Honeycutt and the Rev. Bruce Graham officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Landis Baptist Church. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Landis Baptist Church, 110 N.
