Elbert Ervin Obituary
SALISBURY - Elbert Meredith Ervin, 68, of Salisbury, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center after being in declining health for six months.
Born Jan. 15, 1941, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Louis Elbert and Dorcas Kepley Ervin. Mr. Ervin was educated in Rowan County schools and graduated from West Rowan High School.
He was employed for Hoechst Celanese for 30 years before retiring in 1996.
Mr. Ervin was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Lentz Ervin, whom he married Sept. 22, 1962; daughters Dalinda Hodgson and husband Wayne of Taylorsville, Heather Vines and husband Keith of Fuquay-Varina; and grandchildren Sarah Sipes, John Vines, Jonathan Hodgson and Meredith Vines.
Service: Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Luth-eran Church with the Rev. Don Safrit officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Summersett Funeral Home.

I recently found out about Mr. Ervin and was saddened to hear of his passing. Mrs. Ervin, I am Heather's high school friend Carole and I am so sorry for your loss.
Heather and Dalinda, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I have already spoken to Heather but I wanted to post on here my condolences to all of you, that I am thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers as you go through this time of mourning. Hope it helps to know that people care.
