Harry Lee McNeely Sr.

Harry Lee McNeely, Sr., 82, of Salisbury, passed away on February 27, 2025. Born on February 27, 1943, in Rowan County to the late Capius and Evelyn Torrence McNeely, he was a proud graduate of J.C. Price High School, where he excelled in football and was inducted into the J.C. Price Sports Hall of Fame.

A U.S. Army veteran, he worked for 35 years at Bakers Furniture as an upholsterer before retiring. He was a dedicated member of Sills Creek A.M.E. Zion Church, J.C. Price Post #107 American Legion, and the Elks.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janet Blair McNeely; and siblings, Cylista Brady, James A. McNeely, and Billy McNeely.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Harry Lee McNeely, II (Sharon) of North Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Capius LaTrail McNeely and Devon Jake McNeely; one great-grandchild, Alicia McNeely; sister, Myra Cuthbertson of Salisbury; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Arrangements: Public Walk Thru Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the funeral home. Services are Wednesday, March 5, 2025 with Visitation at 1:00pm and Funeral at 2:00pm in the A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel, Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00am in the Salisbury National Cemetery. Reverend Eleazar Merriweather, Officiating and Reverend Raymondo Brady, Eulogist.
