John Cave Obituary

On Feb. 5, 2017, John Sevier Cave, Jr., 34, passed away suddenly in Brooklyn, N.Y. John was the beloved son of Anne and John Cave, Sr. of Salisbury. He grew up in Henderson, Ky. He attended The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and, in 2000, graduated with honors from Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga. He studied guitar at the College-Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati and in 2004 he graduated from the Jazz Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. After college graduation, he moved to New York City where he worked as a professional musician until his death. He traveled with bands in the USA, Europe, Japan, and China and played on many musical recording sessions in New York City. In 2015, he produced an album of original songs entitled, “Celestial.” John is survived by his wife, Orit Zabari and his 22 month old son, Kai; his parents, John and Anne Cave; a sister, Allison Cave; and two brothers, Clark Cave and Elliot Cave. Memorials in his honor may be contributed to www.youcaring.com/thekaifund to help with his son's current and future needs.

I Remembered John when he was just a small lad. My son Josh & John were playmates. We were neighbors on Jackson Street in Henderson years ago before us moving to Indiana . So sorry for your loss of a dear loved one. May God bless all and comfort you during this difficult time.
