Joyce Hunter Obituary
KANNAPOLIS - Joyce Lyerly Hunter, 78, of Kannapolis passed away on Oct. 29, 2012.
She was born June 22, 1934, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Leon B. Lyerly and Mary Fries Lyerly.
She was an avid sports fan, especially college basketball, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her son, Michael G. London of Salisbury; two daughters, Patricia London of Concord and Tracy Driver (William) of China Grove; five grandchildren, Jonathan Shuping (Haley), Drew Shuping (Abby), Lauren Flack (Chad), Nathan Driver and Noah Driver; two great-grandchildren, Lawson and Havilland Shuping; two sisters, Ginger Webster (Ralph) and Kaye Lyerly.
Service and Visitation: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Wes Judy. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior at Whitley's.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to National Inclusion Project, P.O. Box 110104, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709.
