Kenneth Weddington

Kenneth Henry Weddington, 82, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at his residence following a period of declining health. Born Feb. 14, 1934, in China Grove, Kenneth was a son of the late Marion Boyd and Elma Yost Weddington. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were two sisters and three brothers. Kenneth was a 1952 graduate of Landis High School and had honorably served his country with the US Army, stationed in Japan. A lifelong member of Lutheran Chapel Church, Mr. Weddington was a painting contractor and owner of Ken Weddington Auction and Real Estate. He was a retired fireman and retired board of director member of Bostian Heights Fire Department. Family members left with cherished memories include his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Clary Weddington; his daughters, Sherry Beaver (Terry), and Cindy Lyman (Roger); his sons, Darry Weddington and Dennis Weddington (Kim); six grandchildren, Justin Chapman, Laney Humphrey (Morgan), Lauren Beaver, Kendall Weddington, Evan Beaver and Billy Weddington; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Frances Hough and his brother Ralph Weddington (Mary Ellen). Visitation and Service: The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 17, from 1-3 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Lutheran Chapel Church and at other times the family will be at the residence. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mr. Weddington's life will begin at 3 p.m., in the church, conducted by the Rev. William Connelly, pastor. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, with military and fire department honors.
