Mark Lucas Obituary

Mark Alan Lucas, 54, of Salisbury, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, at Liberty Lane Hospice in Salisbury surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pemberton Township, N.J., a son of Barbara Carr Yarbough and John Lucas, Sr. After graduating high school, Mark continued his education by studying HVAC. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy. Mark was employed in the boating industry as a mechanic after his military service. Mark was a very kind and loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed. He loved spending time with his family especially his two grandsons. Left to cherish his memories are his three daughters, Stephanie Katsamperis (Jake Harris) and Brittany Morris (John VanHoose) all of Salisbury and Jean Yarbough of Savannah, Ga.; two very precious grandsons, Nolan Musclewhite and Mason Morris both of Salisbury; mother, Barbara Carr Yarbough (Pete) of Faith; father, John Lucas, Sr. (Julie) of Browns-Mills, N.J.; one brother, John Lucas, Jr. (Valerie) of Philadelphia, Pa.; and one sister Pamela Pope of Salisbury. Services: Graveside service will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, July 29, at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Military honors will be accorded by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and all the employees at the Liberty Lane Hospice for all the wonderful care Mark received. Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Lucas family.
