Sarah Elaine Cook

Sarah Elaine Cook, 17, of China Grove, passed into the loving arms of the Lord Saturday, July 10, 2021 at home. Born March 16, 2004 in Cabarrus County, she is the daughter of Donna Cook. Sarah was to be a senior at South Rowan High School this coming fall. Sarah loved school, her friends and teachers at South Rowan. She enjoyed swimming, drawing, bike riding, lifting weights, video gaming, shopping, country music, Spartan Races, amusement parks, and Starbucks' iced coffee. She absolutely loved a good, old-fashioned plain cheeseburger. Sarah aspired to pursue a career as a funeral director. She had a special place in her heart for the Randy Price family. Aside from her mother, Sarah is survived by her grandparents, Patricia Cook Childress and Ken Childress; Aunt Becky Tilley and husband Jeff; Great-Aunts Judy Byrd, Karen Morton, and Kay Cook; and cousins, Austin Tilley, Andrew Cook and Kim Cook. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Paul Cook. A funeral service to honor Sarah's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at New Gilead Reformed Church 2400 Old Concord – Salisbury Hwy. Concord. Pastors Brandon Bridges and Trey Palmer will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from Thursday evening July 15 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis.
