Arthur Martinez Obituary
1943 - 2025
Arthur Martinez passed away peacefully on Jan. 24, 2025, in Salt Lake City, UT surrounded by his family. He was born on May 17,1943 in Bingham Canyon, UT, to Jubencio and Adela Martinez. Art enlisted in the US Navy in Jan.1963. In Dec.1965, he was assigned to the USS Providence. He was discharged from the Navy in Jan.1967.
Art worked for and retired from Kennecott Copper Mine.
All throughout life Art was a loving and caring son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. He loved everyone and always wanted to help in any way he could. He enjoyed being a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He loved all animals and enjoyed caring for them. Art was an avid bowler and made many friends throughout the years.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Preddy (Abel), Lillian, sister-in-law Carma, Katie (Chris), Roy (Elena), children Michael (Sherri), Kelli, Tiffani (Rob). Grandchildren Morgan (Travis), Kasey, Kenny, Nicholas (Stephanie), and Harley (Asher). Great grandchildren Kynlee and Kayzlee, who loved Grandpa Heart. His adoptive family Barbra, Allison, Caroline, and Elise. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Willie, sister Anna, brother-in-law Clarence, his ex-wife and very close friend Connie Kurz, and best friend Bill Sherman.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30th from 10:00 - 12:00 with services to follow from 12:00 – 1:00 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St, in Midvale UT. Graveside services will be held at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, in Bluffdale, UT.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to any animal shelter in memory of Art.

Met Art in a bar in Murray "Lou's" he always had a smile on his face and was always so friendly. I would also see him at car show. Loved knowing him. There was a fund raiser at Lou's once he donated what I call a motorcycle vest I purchased it and still have it. What a fun memory!

Was so sad to hear of Art passing! He was a kind and respectful man a good friend and neighbor here at Victoria Woods Apartments. He would always help when needed. Will miss not seeing him here ! R.I P
