Aubrey Arnell Obituary

Aubrey Kae Arnell 4/24/1977 ~ 9/9/2007 Aubrey Arnell, dear wife, adoring mother, beloved sister, daughter and granddaughter, passed peacefully from the bounds of this life Sunday, September 9, 2007, in the embrace of her children and husband. Cancer conquered her body but never her spirit. Aubrey was a student, professor, and scholar of prodigious talent with a marvelous intellect only exceeded by her wisdom and insight. We mourn on behalf of those left untaught but rejoice for those now hearing her voice. She was appealingly quirky and unwaveringly loyal. None were consistently prepared for encounters with her uncommon wit and humor, though duly warned by her impish grin. She will be greatly missed by all she touched, especially her husband Chris, children Caleb (7) and Mykaela (4), parents Karl and Shanna Hopkins, sister Elizabeth Bailey, brother Chris Hopkins, and grandparents "Buster" and Donna Keyes. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Sat. Sept. 15, 2007, at Monument Park 2nd Ward, 1005 S 2000 E, Salt Lake City, UT. There will be a viewing preceding the service at the same location from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. and another the prior evening, Fri. Sept. 14th from 6-8 at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E 1300 S. My mom just informed me today of Aubrey's passing. I was best friends with her in junior high school and we did much together in mutual. I loved her like a sister and I'm so sorry that we had lost contact. It sounds like she continued being the bright person that she was in my life. I want you all to know the impression that she made on me, even though I was never able to tell her. She made me want to be a better person. She will be greatly missed on this earth and I can't wait to be with her again on the other side. I'm so sorry for your loss of such a special person. Please know that she will be loved and missed. (I'm Kathy and Wes Himle's daughter.) I'm sorry that I missed her funeral, I would liked to have said good bye. My thoughts and prayers are with all your family at this time.

Dear Karl, Shan, Chris Arnell & family, Chris & Rachel and family, and Liz & Josh,
I am full of sorrow at the loss of this beloved person in your family. But, I know that our passing from this earth is a "homecoming" of sorts on the other side, and thinking of this helps me through. One thing really sticks out in my mind: Aubrey always had a glow or "light" about her that especially twinkled in her eyes; ever since she was a tiny toddler. I never saw her unhappy (maybe you did; but, not me) and she always made others feel welcome and loved. I believe she will carry on in this, as she watches over all of you. I send you my love and prayers and deepest sympathy.
