Billie Hansen Obituary

Billie Bernice Titcomb Hansen
Loved & Lived Life To The Extreme.
Billie Bernice Titcomb Hansen, 70, of Minersville, UT, died from cancer on June 13, 2012. She was born August 20 1941, to Francis & Veona Titcomb. Billie grew up in Magna, UT. After graduating from Cyprus High School, she worked at Hercules Aerospace until she married & started a family. In 1979, Billie moved to Cedar City, UT, where she worked for the Bureau of Land Management & the Federal Aviation Administration. There, she discovered a love for flying, got her private pilot's license, and bought her own Piper Cherokee airplane. Billie transferred to a Flight Standards facility in Casper, WY and retired in 2001 with over 20 years of outstanding civil service with the federal government. She finally settled in Minersville, UT.
Billie enjoyed being involved with young people & was an unofficial foster mother to many teens. She took many "challenging" teens into her home & provided a stable environment for them to grow & flourish. Many still call her "Mom" today.
Billie is survived by her four children, Val Hansen; Nannette (Paul) Klein; Rusty (Marla) Hansen; Wendie (Michael) Mitchell; their father, Lew Hansen; four grandchildren, Casey Hansen; Nick Klein; Skylar Hansen; Jordan Klein; her brothers, Ronald Francis Titcomb & Tommie Smith Titcomb; & her loving Pomeranian, Mokee. Billie was preceded in death by her parents & her faithful friend of 14 years, a Chow-Chow named Shadow.
The family wishes to thank the Iron County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, as well as Southern Utah Home Care & Hospice for providing her comfort, care & quality of life in her final days.
A graveside service was held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Cedar City Cemetery.

Billie was our "Neighborhood Mom" while we were growing up in Hunter. She was always there for everyone, teaching us to crochet, how to vacuum perfect lines in the carpet and treating us like adults when no one else did. Always ready to listen or help us without any negativity. I was so sad to hear of her passing and wish I could of been there for her like she always was for us.
I Love you Billie and maybe one day we will meet again at that big kitchen table in heaven.

Billie
I have many memories of the good times we had----our carefree youth, your Mom's great dinner's and how loving she always was, you teaching me to be a happy person.
I always admired your courage to be yourself, it seemed to be so easy for you. Knowing you has enriched my life. Thank you Billie!

So very sorry for your loss. Billie and I were good friends while growing up and I have wondered about her many times through the years. You were fortunate to have a good wife and mother.
