Brian Dodd Obituary

Brian Dodd
1935 ~ 2013
Brian Dodd, beloved patriarch, husband, father, granddad, great granddad, uncle, and friend to many on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, returned with honor to our Heavenly Father, peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Oct. 2, 2013. Brian was born to Harry and Edith Dodd on Oct. 7, 1935 in Stockport, Cheshire, England. He married his sweetheart, Jessie Bartle, on July 28, 1956 in Stockport, Cheshire, England. Their marriage was later solemnized in the London, England LDS Temple. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully for many years in several church callings. The most important things in life to him were his beloved wife, Jessie, his family, and his testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a wonderful example to many and loved by all who were fortunate to know him. His infectious sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Brian and Jessie had seven children: Vivienne (Alan) Taylor, Gregory Dodd, Tracey (David) Smith, Christopher (Laura) Dodd, Lisa (Mike) Parmley, Samantha (Brad) Stephens. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Andrew Dodd, and two grandsons, Jason and Jeremy. He is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
We thank all those that provided love, care and comfort to him, and for our friends love and support. Brian's funeral celebration will be held on his 78th birthday, Monday, October 7th at 1:00 PM in the Sandy Utah East Stake Center (9636 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah). The family will meet with friends on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM both at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of Brian's love of missionary work to the LDS General Missionary Fund.
Condolences can be shared with the family at www.larkinmortuary.com.

Thank you for your service as a member of the Manchester stake presidency. You and jessie were great examples to me as a recent convert to the church. Your family always made me and Kevin feel welcome whenever we were at your home in Stockport. I used to wait at the stake center for you all to arrive and all climb out of your family vehicle. I used to wonder how you all fit. I should have stayed more in contact as Ogden really isn't that far. Lots of fond funny memories as Travy always ended up with the tallest bloke and I always ended up with a midget. All good memories.we were both single young teenagers back then.
