Dear Whitney Family,

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Cody. He was always such a cute kid and I'm sure an amazing adult. I wish I could have attended the funeral. It would have been nice to see you all. Please know my heart hurts for you at this time. Your family is definitely one of my favorites.
Take care,
Kris (Stevens) Mcdonough

Cody Whitney Ferd is more than a friend. He is our brother. Of the five Nish boys, my dad always called Ferd his number 6th son. Ferd never needed to knock, he just walked right in when he came to visit the Nish home.

Ferd had the best stories, they always made us laugh. His laugh was contagious. Never a dull moment with Ferd. He loved to laugh and have a good time.

There's no one like Ferd. No one can replace him. Ferd is fiercely loyal and committed to his family. He has the best heart. He loves children. His eyes would always light up when my nieces and nephews were around. He recorded all the Little House on the Prairie episodes to show his own kids one day so they would not be subject to all the crap on TV.

Ferd gave me my first with many things. First poker game. First chess game. First Wyoming Downs. First demolition derby. First blue dart. First NBA playoff game.

Life will be boring without Ferd. Many classic card games, many nights hot tubbing, many movie nights Ferd showed up with a classic movies, many concerts, many dover trips, many Raiders games/BYU games/Lakers games, many side-bets, many fishing trips, many camping trips, hunting/shooting trips. All will be sorely missed. But most of all we miss his pop-ins to the Nish home to chat and laugh.

We love you Ferd, always and forever.

Played together even when I lived out of state

He was blessed with a great sense of humor , loyalty to his family , love for music and stood up for the vulnerable in our community. He fought that disease to the very end. A valiant warrior.
