Grandma Householder ~
The red house on Poppy Ln. grandmas house. I was always greeted with a hug and a hi Sky can I make ya anything? Unless you went after 10:00pm then she was most likely dead asleep at the kitchen table with M.A.S.H. playing in the little black and white with rabbit ears TV. If you did show up before that time you were in for a treat. From being a kid and climbing on the rock fountain (that never worked) to being an adult and having one to many drinks at the family Christmas parties. So many memories. I remember some kids starting the Bear Park on fire, the hostage situation at Alta View Hospital, a fugitive on the run in gmas neighbors backyard, wondering what was in that big ugly trailer in the backyard or what was behind the furnace in the basement, the guy who lived across the street that looked like the guy who paints on TV, building snowmen in the winter, mowing that big lawn with the roots all over it and how could anyone ever forget those visits from Ryan. He always had his Wendy's gear on ready for work. No matter when you visited or what happened there...grandams house was always a good time. Wish I would have spent more time there.

I want to express my deepest sorrow at the passing of Mrs. Householder.
Her husband Boyd was my little league coach and I have wonderful memories of the Householder home as a kid growing up in White City.
Of course, Darlene and Boyd were both Bingham people which makes them special automatically; but to meet them and admire them as a young
man was to know their greatness as people and role models.
She is with Boyd now but her and Boyd will always be part of mine and a number of other boy's childhoods.
God Bless

Our condolences in the passing of your mother. As her cousin, I have fond memories of how kind and patient she was with me. She gave me the nickname Moon, and she forever referred to me by that name. It was always fun to visit Uncle Tom and Aunt Faye's home, especially if Darlene was there. Her sweetness will forever keep her memory alive.

Gram, words can never say how much I will miss you. The memories we have shared and the times we have spent together will forever be in my heart, splitting pizzas, my half pepperoni and yours green peppers, and then going back to your house and making garlic bread in the oven, a technique I still use today. Stopping off a the craft store for some art supplies and going and painting statues, you always were just a 'hair' better than me. You were a shining example of love and the way that everyone should be, always greeting everyone you met with a smile and usually a great big kiss, lipstick stain on cheek included. I am so sorry that my job takes so much time away and, I was not able to spend any of your last few moments with you, or give you that last kiss goodbye. It will be weird coming home and not being able to come see you, something I will have to get used to I guess, please know that you will live on forever in our hearts and memories. Miss You Love You.
Your Grandson, Travis Ostler (Kabul, Afghanistan)

I was so saddened to read this obituary. I was just thinking of Darlene a few days ago and the fun times we had working as operators at the Bingham Canyon telephone office way back in the 50's -- In our small staff we had 2 Darlene's, 2 Maurine's, and 2 Beverly's. Now we've lost both Darlene's, one Maurine and one Beverly. It was such a fun time. I really loved working with Darlene -- she had such a cute sense of humor. My sympathy to all of her family.

BJ, Joni, Julie, Jerry, and Jill - I know what a bittersweet time this must be for you and your families and you are in my prayers. Aunt Darlene had this amazing happy, giving spirit that enveloped everyone around her. I will miss that and, as keeper of many of the family memories, her stories about her and my dad's childhood and the people who filled their lives. May God bless you all at this time and may her memory bring you much happiness.
