Emily Astin Obituary
Emily Lyn Astin, 39, lost her battle with depression and bipolar disorder, resulting in suicide on December 22, 2017, in Woods Cross, Utah. Our beautiful, smart, kind, generous, and loving sister could no longer endure the hopelessness and isolation that depression inflicted on her and we are truly heartbroken.
Emily, a lifelong Utah resident, grew up in Salem and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She had a successful 22 year career at ShopKo as a store manager.
She was loved by siblings; Amie (Blake) Smith, Chris Astin (Jay Bosworth), Suzanne Gould, Steve (Tami) Astin; two nieces; seven nephews; stepchildren Ricky and Malia Favela; best friend Goose Gustamantes; beloved dogs Daffie and Olive; and numerous extended family; ShopKo coworkers, and friends. Emily was preceded in death by parents Delbert (Bud) Astin and Marjorie Marchand.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 29th, 2:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where visitations will be held Thursday, December 28th, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday prior to services from 1:00-2:00 p.m. For complete obituary visit www.mcdougalfuneralhomes.com.

emily , spent alot of time with us in nephi when her and shantell where together. we are very sorry to here of her passing. she will be missed. emily was kind and was always fun to be around. no more suffering in this earth life and remember familys under gods plan is eternal alan hall
