GRACE LACY Obituary

Grace Mildred Palmer Lacy 1919 ~ 2010 Born March 7, 1919 in Buford, TX, to Henry Brewer Palmer and Rena Fae Key. She died May 26, 2010 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from Uvalde High School in 1935, Grace studied Nursing at the University of Texas, Galveston. She went on to become Assistant Director of Nursing at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, California. On March 24, 1956 Grace married Robert J. Lacy, the love of her life. Bob already had three beautiful children, Michael John, Julie Ann and Robert W Lacy. Terrance Joseph and Margaret Eileen Lacy soon followed. Although she became an instant mother, Grace managed to be involved in numerous community groups and clubs. Some of these included P.E.O. sisterhood, College Club, University Women, Women's Legislative Council, and WAIME (Wives of mining engineers.) Most dear to her heart was the time spent in service to the church. She was a deacon, elder and a Stephen Minister at Wasatch Presbyterian Church. Grace is survived by four children, Michael, Julie, Terry and Margaret, four grandchildren, Carisa, Chris, Nathan and Brandon and one great grandson, Kaden. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 12 noon at Wasatch Presbyterian Church at 1626 S. 1700 E., Salt Lake City, UT. I knew Grace through P.E.O and the mining group. She was a delightful lady, and I always enjoyed visiting with her and being in her presence. She also was a friend of my mother, Dorothy Field

Dear Lacy Family,
Grace was that special "Texas Lady" you just couldn't ignore. She was always gracious, friendly, helpful and caring and a wonderful friend to all who knew her. Her love of her family was always a constant. She was proud of each of you and shared that with all of her friends.

I will miss her infectious laugh and wonderful conversations. She will forever be in our hearts.

With Love and Sympathy,
Sally & Mike Irish
