James "Jim" Robert Latham Sr. 7/13/1940 ~ 6/8/2008 Loving husband, father and grandfather, James R. Latham Sr., passed at 67, on June 8, 2008 of cancer. After receiving his educational background in Utah, Jim went on to a very exciting military and business career that covered several large industries in many cities. During his time in the Army, Jim's favorite assignment was developing "AYA" Army Youth Association. He set up and operated "Camp Freedom" in Dautphe, Germany where US Army Scouts could train and compete on a world stage with German, French and British students and Scouts. Jim reached the rank of Eagle Scout in these callings. Jim's career in business was diverse and successful. He acted as CEO for European Health Spas and became a nationally recognized leader in phone book publishing. Jim received prestigious awards including Michigan Businessman of the Year and an invitation to the White House. Jim completed his career with an admired and successful business relationship with his wife Carolyn West; publishing phone directories in the mid-West where they resided in Michigan for seven years. He retired to the beautiful desert community of Green Valley, AZ. Jim had many passions in his life. Anyone who knew Jim, knew of his great love for cars. He enjoyed affiliation with four Corvette Clubs around the Nation. He was also a member of the LDS church and ADP. Jim is survived by his partner and loving wife Carolyn West Latham and by six wonderful children: James "Robert" Latham Jr. Esq. (partner in Law Firm Kramer & Latham), Kimberly Latham Lundeen wife of Dr. Gregg Lundeen (with two grandchildren Flynn and Bowen), and Keri Granger. Jim was also a dear and loved step-father to Lt. John Kuczmanski, wife Yami and step-granddaughter Alexa, Jeana Thornton and husband Paul, and Sgt. First Class Lori Kuczmanski. Graveside service to be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Huntsman Cancer Center would be appreciated.

Carolyn & family, Jim will always have a special place in my heart, as we became good friends when he came to MI to lead our staff to greatness in the yellow page industry. Jim shared his knowledge and passion with his staff. Anyone who worked with Jim (not for him)grew to love & respect the him. Remember the fun & laughter that we all shared with Jim & you (Carolyn). Dylan & I will always keep you in our thoughts & our hearts, with love
