Jared Vance Obituary

Jared Rushton Vance 5/29/2002 ~ 11/30/2009 Jared Rushton Vance passed away early Monday morning, November 30, 2009 after his courageous battle with a chordoma tumor.Jared was born May 29, 2002 in Bountiful, UT to Andrew and Jaime Vance. Jared was a very fun loving kid with a fantastic imagination. He loved to create new superheroes and would list all of the many powers that these heros would have. He loved his brother and sister so dearly. He would smile and laugh at their many jokes and just loved to be around them. He and Gabrielle were especially close and were truly the best of friends. He wrote a note to Bradley for his birthday just days before his passing telling him that he was his best side kick. Bradley and Gabrielle are truly better for having the brother that they do. Jared loves his mother and their bond will never be forgotten. He loved to hear her sing and would always request a certain song from her that has become a cherished song in our home. Jared's dad was his best medicine and they found a source of strength and joy from each other. Jared will live on in all of us and our memories of Jared will never dwindle. He was loved by all and is truly a special son of God. Jared is survived by his father and mother, Andrew and Jaime (Beck) Vance; his sister and brother, Gabrielle and Bradley; grandparents David and Gloria (Van Dyke) Vance and Stephen and Leslie (Jensen) Beck along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Centerville South Stake Center, 270 North 300 East, Centerville, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary located at 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful, Utah. There will also be a viewing prior to the Services on Friday, from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Stake Center. There will be a gathering for family and friends immediately following the Memorial Service at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, Utah. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am a perfect stranger to you, but we are connected because my 10 year-old daughter Kate has a brain tumor. Kate is doing wonderfully, but we must watch her closely and of course thank God for every day we have with her. I know your son was a special person and that his story has helped many other children and parents dealing with cancer. Yours truly, Heidi Brett 801-661-6764

Dear Dave and Gloria,

I was saddened to learn of the death of your grandson. The last time I talked with you, Gloria, you were working with his illness and hopeful. Our little grand daughter, Alexa passed away at the same age and I understand the pain. We have had many spiritual experiences confirming her whereabouts and the joy she is feeling. They gospel brings us such insights and comforts. You are a spiritual family and I know that your comfort and peace are tangible. Know that you are in our thoughts.

Jared is an exceptional young boy. It is no wonder that he was called Home so soon.
As his primary teacher I marvelled at his knowledge; his love for the Savior and his quiet reverence.
Some will say that Jared is shy. That he was. But Jared also understood at a early age; the need for reverence for things of the spirit.
I will miss his shy upward glances; his shy smile and bright eyes.
Thank-you Jared for all that you have taught me.
Now soar with your ultimate super hero.
Your Savior.
With Love Sister Leonard

Jamie, Andrew, Gabrielle, and Bradley:

Please know of our love and heartfelt sympathy for your family with the passing of Jared. We just finished reading, while shedding many tears, the tender words that Andrew shared on Jared's blog. We are grateful to all of you for having the strength to share the difficult trial of this remarkable boy, and for your amazing courage as a family. You are all superheroes! We will best remember Jared during those times when you were in Virginia and he was so full of life. Be assured that because of your faith in our Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness, there will be a future joyful reunion as an eternal family. Our every prayer is that you, Jared's dear grandparents, and all of your loved ones will find lasting peace through the Comforter now and in the days ahead.

With all our love,
Colleen and Terry Eggett and Family.

Dearest Jamie, Andrew and family.

Jared and all of you are hero types and have brought the best out in many, many folks. From coast to coast, from family, friends and medical/health personnel; from ward family members, to school teachers and associates, blog.readers and strangers....

What a positive impact you and Jared have made upon so many of Heavenly Father's children on both sides of this thin veil we call birth and/or death.

God bless us all....everyone! Love, Sherm & family
