Dear Robbins Family,

I just heard from Ray last night and am so shocked that I can hardly find words to write. I know that Kirby is watching over all of his family and friends, and sending love and that great smile of his to comfort everyone.

Sheila and the kids,

Although I have not had the pleasure of knowing you, knowing Kirby is enough to tell me that you are wonderful. You can count me among the huge numbers of people that respected and admired Kirby.

Belva,

I don't know if you remember me, but I spent the better part of one summer skiing with Kirby and Ray. I was honored to meet you a few times. I am so sorry that I wasn't at the funeral. I would have come if I had known.

Missy,

I know how close you two were, and here I am, crying all over again to think of your loss. If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask. I miss you and send my love.

Kirby,

Thank you for being a part of my life. I never thanked you and Ray, but water-skiing with you two that summer was a huge boost in my self-esteem, after a devastating divorce. You always had a smile for me. I can still remember when I smashed my ribs up pretty good, and was hurt bad enough that the two of you had to lift me back up into the boat. On the ride back to shore, I had to keep asking you to stop making me laugh, because laughing hurt so bad. That, and a dozen other wonderful memories have been flooding my mind since last night. I wish I could have been there to honor you with your friends and family.

Much love to everyone that knew Kirby.

Sincerely,
Heidi

Smurf and I truly want you to know of our love for you and our willingness to help in anyway. John considered Kirby one of his best friends and as such knew that he would do anything for him and vice versa. The last 2 weeks have been tuff on everyone. I hope it gets easier. My little girl prayed for Kirby everynight and continues to pray for your family. This week has been a week of reflection on a life well spent. John has spent his sleepless nights looking at pictures from the trip you guys took this year and thinking of all the fun times.
Again, we love you dearly and will keep you in our minds and prayers.

We were deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Kirby.. I went to Skyline with him and we used to laugh our heads off... Laurel Mitchell and I used call him Kirby Squirby because it rhymed :) and also because he was such a unique person. We laughed at each others jokes while we would walk to Seminary. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him at school and will always remember his gentle spirit and great sense of humor.
May you all find peace and comfort during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers..

Kirby was the bright spot in my day when I worked with him. I don't remember a time when he didn't have a smile on his face or a joke or something humorous to add to the conversation. Yet he still managed to get his work done (and very well at that). To Sheila I say, I know your pain and it's a very hard pain, but there is still life and love ahead, especially for and with your children. Let them help you and you help them through the hard times. That's how I made it when I lost my wife to cancer. My prayers are with you.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I will always have fond memories of Kirby. I was always amazed by fact that he knew so much about so many things, electronics, etc. When Kirby and Sheila built their new home on Riverton, I was impressed by the planning and forethought that went into the project, down to the minor details that most people do not even think of. For these reasons, and for many more, we will miss Kirby very much.

Kirby was truly, a great man. Too few people possess the ability to lift you up by your very soul; not just make you laugh in that moment, but to make you laugh again whenever you think of it.
He had the ability to help others realize their own potential and always had an encouraging word. He retained that child-like joy in living that so many people lose along their way. Kirby was pure, concentrated FUN. Brilliant and bold. Kind and caring. I will always hold him in the highest regard.

To Kirby's loved ones...

All of us at SRI are deeply saddened by the loss of Kirby.

While we didn't know him long, we quicky became one of his greatest fans. We knew we could count on Kirby. He was extremely dedicated and a delight to work with. I only met Kirby personally one time; yet, I felt as if I had known him for a lifetime.

Mary Ann and I will truly miss Kirby. Your loss is truly heart felt. All of you will remain in our prayers. May God bless...

Good times, there were so many. It is the good times that have kept me smiling and laughing this week. Will never forget the baby blue Lebaron(s); summer trips to Bashful Bob's Motel in Page, AZ to water-ski; waterskiing at night with night vision goggles; the countless trips to Village Inn after midnight; and Kirby driving with the top off of his Jeep during cold weather months. "Yes I know it is snowing, just take this dryer vent tubing that I hooked-up to the heater and put it up your shirt, you will stay warm." Oh ya', and Christmas has never been quite right since receiving Kirby's absolutely classic Christmas card with him posing with Swayne.

Will miss ya’ good friend...

Dear Robbins family,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Kirby's illness and prayed for him and for all of you during that time. I am truly sorry for your loss and only hope that the messages of those whose lives Kirby touched will give you a sense of happiness and peace.

I was lucky to meet Kirby in Jr. High and to continue a friendship past High School. Kirby was easy to get to know. He had a good heart and a gentleness that I saw in him; even through all the practical jokes. There was a particular time when Kirby demonstrated great humility, which I will be forever grateful for.

Kirby knew how to have fun and make people laugh. Driving down Big Cottonwood canyon will always remind me of the time he drove his 'Le Baron'(?) down the canyon at 70+ mph while we were sluffing one of our classes. I was not laughing at the time, only grateful we didn't roll the car.

I'll always remember how awesome his parents and sister were. (You're the best, Belva! :)) You are genuine, kind people. I know a great deal of the great guy Kirby was is because of you.

I will mostly remember Kirby for his generous spirit. This was especially evident to me the Summer of '94 when he would invite me and whoever I wanted to bring out on his boat every week - since he knew waterskiing was my favorite sport.
Those were some of my best memories with him.

It is with a smile that I remember Kirby - someone I knew as a boy who grew into a wonderful man, husband and father. My prayers are with his children, wife and mother. May you all find comfort and peace knowing how many lives Kirby has touched and think of the joy that awaits us all in seeing him again.

Sheila and Family,

I am so sorry to hear your loss of a great man. When I heard the news I was in shock. The memories I have of Kirby are wonderful. The first day I met him he was talking with an Irish accent and this continued for about a month. Later I needed to talk to him and then he was speaking to me without the Irish accent. I started to laugh and so did he. He never failed to ask me how I was doing and always had such a caring smile. Working with Kirby was a blessing and I will never forget him for his personality and always willing to help anyone in need. I am thankful to have known him.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kirby's passing. We were friends in High School, and I will always remember his crazy, fun-loving personality. With Kirby, you never knew what to expect next, whether it was jumping the Cutlass off “Jupiter Jump” or playing a harmless prank on an unsuspecting person. He was always full of life and will never be forgotten.

August 28, 2007

I too was shocked to hear about Kirby’s passing. The guy lived at my parents house during and post highschool. He always got a kick out of scaring my dog (Moot) and pushing him into the pool. Like my sister Crystal wrote, we always get a kick out the things Kirby did with my brother Ray. He was always a jokester. He never pulled off the greates prank of all time at Lake Powell with Ray because Kirby also had a kind heart. Kirby is a legend.

Kirby would be thrilled of all the Utah Utes comments after his passing.

Go Utes!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Robbins family. Kirby will be missed. I look back at my interactions with him with great fondness. They were always filled with insight and laughter. We would talk about electronics and such. He helped me pick out a big screen TV several years back when I was being indecisive about what to get. I think he would get a kick out of the thought that someone will remember him when they watch TV. Our most memorable conversations were about our children. He always had good advice. And he loved his children dearly. I know that he does now and will continue to watch over his family in spirit.

Our hearts have been broken this week. While most of the time was filled with sorrow, I caught myself smiling, remembering many wonderful experiences with Kirby. He was such a great friend. Steph and I sat up late the other night reminiscing. He will never be forgotten. Although my kids have never met him, they all know him through daddy's stories. I was looking forward to moving back home in a few years and reuniting with him, but I guess I will have to wait a little longer. May your knowledge of the Plan of Salvation bring you peace and hope until you are with him again.

I cannot find the words to express how saddened I am at the loss of Kirby. I owe so much of who I am to him and I'm not sure who I would have grown up to be, without him. I was blessed to have him as my friend.
He was so happy to be with you and loved you so much. He once told me, before you married; there was no other woman as strong as you. I know this is his comfort now.
You and the kids are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure Kirby would have had a great time with that statement. Even now I smile at the thought.

This is a sad day for my family and for all of those who had the honor of numbering Kirby as one of their friends. Kirby is someone who I can honestly say has touched my life and I am a better person for knowing him. Sheila, you and your children are in our thoughts and prayers.

Sheila & Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Kirby's passing. He will be missed by so many. Remember all the good times you had together and as a family.

Lean on Jesus during this time of sorrow. Only He can bring you the peace that you need to get through this.

John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Sheila,Hunter,Sierra and Ariel,
I am so shocked to hear of Kirby's passing. The one thing I remember the most is how almost every time I saw him at work he was either talking to one of his children on the phone or on his way to talk to one of them. He was a wonderful Father. His sense of humor rocked. I always kept a close eye on him as I never knew what prank he would pull on J-me's computer next. I was always impressed by his love for his family. God Bless You and keep you safe.

Sheila, Hunter, Sierra, and Ariel:

I have tried several times today to convey how I feel about Kirby, and each time I didn't have the right words.

I was blessed to have known him. He was a friend, brother and father-figure to me; anytime I was having problems, he always knew. Kirby was insightful and sensitive and repeatedly knew exactly what to say to lift me up.

One of the unique things about him was his ability to draw impassioned conversation out of me. Be it frustrating or hilarious (he had a wicked sense of humour), the conversations were always entertaining, and I will greatly miss them.

I am a converted lover of running thanks to your father and husband. Every daily run, training, or marathon that I run will be in his memory.

You were very privledged and blessed to have him as a father and spouse. He loved you all so much, and will be with you evermore.

Robbins Family:
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kirby's passing. He truly was a great man. I don't think there is a single person who knew him that wasn't "touched" by his sense of humor. He brought many smiles to those he worked with. He will surely be missed.

Sheila, Hunter, Sierra and Ariel,
Like many today, we are saddened by the loss of your father and husband. I am proud and privileged to have known, and to have been able to call Kirby a friend. Your dad and husband was an
amazing man. He created so many memories for all of us here at Convergys. He had the ability to light up any room with
his charm, sense of humor, and mischievous smile because you knew he just pulled off another one of his classic pranks. There was not a day that went by in the office in which Kirby did not talk about
each of you. He loved you all so much. He will be terribly missed but NEVER forgotten. Our love and prayers are with you and your family.

I used to work with Kirby at Franklin Quest. What a great guy. He and I had lots of fun telling jokes and playing volleyball. He was the most fun boss I ever had. I was very shocked to run across his obituary today.
May God bless you and your children with the comfort needed during such a hard time. He will be truly missed by many.

I have known Kirby for over 20 years as my brother Ray is one of Kirby's best friends. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. Kirby will be missed and we will remember him forever. My kids (who have never met Kirby but have heard all about him) ask me regularly to tell me stories of Ray and Kirby from High School. They especially like the one where Ray blew up Kirby's bed with fireworks. We have all been thinking of Kirby and his family this past week and wish everyone well.
