I was Kirstens math teacher the year she passed. I often think back to the day after the shooting when a vice-principal caught me on the way to my class to tell me she was a victim in the shooting the prior night. I walked to class in a daze. I was emotional when it was announced over the speaker as they had a moment of silence and I remember a student asked why I was crying. I couldn't find the words then, but I can now. I felt deep sorrow losing Kirsten. Her personality and beautiful smile always brightened my day. She will forever be missed.

I am very sorry with what happened to Kirsten. I did not know her in any kind of way but i just want you to know that I will always be there to help your family through. From what i have read Kirsten seems like a amazing person. She looks very beautiful and i wish i had a chance to meet her one day. Just remember that families can be together forever. Steve, I just found out about your sweet Kirsten. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I remember the time that I spent at your house getting to know your girls. I do not know your family personally, however I want you to know your family has been in my prayers. I am so sorry for the sorrow you must be feeling. It has caused me to stop and take that extra minute in the mornings before my girls go off to school, to give them an extra tight hug and tell them how beautiful they are, and to hug and kiss them every night before they fall asleep. My heart goes out to you, and hope you soon feel some comfort. May God Bless you.

Even though I did not know your precious daughter in this life. But I was deeply touched by this senseless act who took a precious life. Our Father in Heaven loves you Kirsten as he does all of us. You are indeed a precious daughter of our Father in Heaven. Now it is up to the rest of us to make sure that we make it there with you Kirsten and the rest of our Family and Friends that we have in this life. Carolyn and Family! Though we have never met, we have been deeply saddened by what you have been through. I cannot claim to understand what you are all going through, but I do know that all of you have been in our thoughts every single day since this has happened. Every time I walk into Elisha's room and her pictures with Kirsten and the "gang" I start to cry. She is such a beautiful girl and was such an angel in our home whenever she was there. Please know that you have been in our prayers and thoughts. I don't know your family, but you have touched my heart in so many ways. Stephen, I think it is so wonderful that you waited for Carolyn to be released from the hospital so she could be with her beautiful baby girl one more time here or until they meet again. Kirsten is such a beautiful girl. I had just left Trolley Square after picking up a Valentines gift for my son's girlfriend at Bath and Body Works. It is so hard to imagine life could change so fast and without reason. Carolyn, I pray that you recover completely from your injuries, stay strong and remember that you are loved by so many. Kirsten was my little sisters best friend and we all loved her dearly! There was not a time that she was at my house that she was not smiling and making everybody else laugh. She had a laugh and smile that brightened up the room and made it a happier place to be. I will miss Kirsten as I know many will. However, we will always carry the memories we have. Hold on to the good times, and just remember she is always with you laughing and smiling.

Kirsten i will never forget your smile and the way you could light up my day just by walking past me and waving and smiling in the hall. You had this glow about you that made the room light up. I will never forget your 8th grade birthday party when we had a dance off and watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time, and how i told Alex to get off the couch cause i had spine-abifida(hahahhaah). Once again my heart bleeds reading aout how a senseless tragedy takes the life of someone so innocent. I commend the family on such a positive effort to rally in the legacy of this beautiful girl, and the positive outlook she had on life.
