Lee Broadhead Obituary

Lee Gayle Broadhead

Vissi D'arte, Vissi D'amore

Salt Lake City, Utah —The universe welcomed the light and voice of a new dramatic soprano into its chorus of angels.

(Even though we all know she is to be the lead). Lee Broadhead passed from this world suddenly on October 11th, 2021 in her home. For those who knew Lee, we knew her to be exceptionally kind to all living things. She was the definition of class and compassion. Lee's light was always enough to warm your heart and soul.

Lee Gayle Faulkner was born on August 15th, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Parents Lloyd Garfield Faulkner and Joan Morgan Siebert. After the tragic loss of her mother, Lee moved to Tiburon, California, and was raised by her Grandmother, Lilly Bruderer. Lee attended Redwood High School and Brigham Young University, where she met the love of her life J. Paul Broadhead. They met in the opera workshop at BYU and connected through their love of music. Her dream was to pursue career as a professional opera singer and to sing at the Met in New York.

Lee and Paul married in April of 1973 and settled in to raise their five children Morgan, Meghan, Mimi, Max, and Miles. ("M" names were not the plan, it just worked out that way).

Lee found her way into the advertising business and worked for several firms in Salt Lake City before founding her firm with her husband in the mid-eighties. During this time, supported by Paul, she was able to sing both locally and nationally. Paul always wanted Lee to be the shining star.

They loved being able to live and work together and did so Until Paul's death in 1989. After his death, she continued to work in advertising in Salt Lake City and briefly in Portland, Oregon. She had a second career resurgence and her new passion in the telecommunications industry. She worked in sales for several different companies where she made lifelong friends - both co-workers and clients.

Lee just collected people she loved.

She settled into her home on Lake Street in the early 2000s. Her neighbors - or her lake street family were so important to her. She was the neighbor who would always bake you cookies. Not just for the holidays, but sometimes just because she wanted to. Her favorite day of the year was Halloween because she loved watching the children in the neighborhood come to her door and pass out candy. She would always say hello to you and loved to know you by name. She would always talk about how lucky she was to live where she lived.

Lee had a big heart for animals. She strongly supported animal causes, as well as other joys besides her children, were her two Kitties Bimba and Berlioz. They are both kitties with special needs and medical issues that my mother brought into her home, and she took impeccable care of them because she knew she could give them the best home - and she did.

Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Husband and Soulmate J. Paul Broadhead, Daughter Meghan Broadhead, Mother- In- Law Hazel Broadhead, Brother-in- Law Gary D. Broadhead, Sister-in-law Judith Golightly, and Sister, Pua Balderama.

She is survived, by her four children, Morgan (Anne Marie), Mimi (Daryl), Max (Carol), Miles, and six grandchildren, Jake (Caitlynn), Liv (Dylan), Christian (Taylor), Corbin, Jason, and Leo and two great-grandchildren - as well with one more on the way.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at:
